Kansas City Temple today on Dec. 19, 2010

Here's a glimpse at the temple as it looks today on Sunday, December 19, 2010.

Judging by looking at where the sun is shining on this late afternoon, it looks like the exterior is being set mostly on the south and east sides of the temple.  It also looks like the east spire construction has begun.

Even in it's skeletal phase of construction, the temple and everything it stands for is already so beautiful to me.

"Every foundation stone that is laid for a Temple, and every Temple completed according to the order the Lord has revealed for his holy Priesthood, lessens the power of Satan on the earth, and increases the power of God and Godliness, moves the heavens in might power in our behalf, invokes and calls down upon us the blessings of the Eternal Gods, and those who reside in their presence."
~President George Q. Cannon, then of the 1st Presidency at the Logan, Utah Temple cornerstone dedication

"The house of the Lord, bathed in light, standing out in the darkness, becomes symbolic of the power and inspiration of the gospel of Jesus Christ standing as a beacon in a world that sinks ever further into spiritual darkness."
~Elder Boyd K. Packer

A beacon of light is being built for Kansas City Temple Chasers.  It's very foundation is a blessing and gift.  Prepare yourselves for the blessings of the House of the Lord.
